Forgy is an adventurous and fun-loving frog that loves to dance more than anything in the world.

Shamed, disowned and banished from toad village by his adoptive father Papa Toad, Forgy the frog has all but given up hope on living the creative and care-free life he has dreamed of since he was a tadpole.

Just as he hits rock bottom, hope is restored when he see’s what everyone told him was just a fairy-tale… The legendary rainbow butterfly that is said to make all a frog’s wildest dreams come true.

With hope for a better life restored, Forgy gives chase through a colorful and dangerous clay-style world to capture the butterfly and make his dreams and hopes for a better life come true.

Hop For The Best Features three gameplay modes. One-Life Mode, Kid’s Mode, and Challenge Mode.

One-Life Mode includes ten challenging levels and only one life to make it through them all.

One wrong move at any point will land you right back where you started.

Kid’s Mode includes variations of the same ten levels as One-Life Mode with a more forgiving difficulty.

Changes to the gameplay include:

Endless lives

Slower enemies

Fewer obstacles

Multiple checkpoints in every level

Challenge Mode is for players looking for unforgiving difficulty and require precisely timed movement to make it out alive.

This mode Features level selection and 50+ shorter levels filled to the brim with obstacles.

(5+ levels each, based on the visuals seen in the ten levels of One-Life/Kid’s modes)

Hop For The Best is being developed by Jacob Thomas Lloyd, the owner and sole member of SplashFire Studios.

Jacob has been a professional freelance graphic designer and illustrator for the last 12 years and an avid gamer all his life.

A father of two, Jacob started his journey in game development after his kids shared with him that they would like to make video games when they grow up.

After learning this he decided to learn all he could so that by the time his kids become teenagers he would be able to teach them everything they would need to know in order to make their own video games.

Nearly a year after diving into game development with Unity, Hop For The Best is his first planned commercial game release.
